Wiribed is an inexpensive hospital bed made from just two sheets of High Moisture Resistance board (HMR). It has excellent load-bearing capacity and moisture resistance, is easy to assemble and produce, and is ideally suited for mass production. The design is based on concepts of weight transfer and origami, the Japanese art of paper folding, in which a single sheet of paper can be used to create various folded forms. The use of CNC cutting technology allows Wiribed to be produced quickly, with precision and at low cost.
